Here you will find free music theory quizzes for beginners. The quizzes go together with the courses on Musikteori.com and are an easy way to check that you have understood what you have read. For the course Music Theory from Scratch there are quizzes on note values such as whole notes, half notes and quarter notes, on rests, time signatures and note names with sharps and flats. The Scales and Keys course ends with a test on whole steps and half steps, the major scale, the minor scale, key signatures and the circle of fifths.

The questions are randomized every time, so you can take the same quiz several times and get new questions. When you are done you see your score and can review all your answers. If you would rather practice reading notes at your own pace, try the interactive exercises.
