About this quiz

This quiz tests your knowledge of rests in music notation. You will identify whole rests, half rests, quarter rests, eighth rests and sixteenth rests, match each rest to the note value it corresponds to, and work out how long the silence lasts. You will also be asked how the whole rest and the half rest differ – one hangs down from a staff line and the other sits on top of it.

Each round has 8 random questions drawn from a bank of 25. You need 60% correct to pass, and when you are done you can review your answers.
