Courses

On Musikteori.com you can learn music theory for free and at your own pace. The courses are written for beginners and build on each other, so you do not need any prior knowledge to get started. Begin with Music Theory from Scratch, where you learn the note names, how to read notes in the treble clef and bass clef, octaves, sharps and flats, note values, rests and time signatures. Then continue with Scales and Keys, where you go through whole steps and half steps, the major scale, the minor scale, keys, key signatures and the circle of fifths.

Every part of the courses has explanations, pictures and examples. You can test your knowledge in our quizzes and practice note reading and piano keys in the exercises.
