Scales and Keys

This course builds on Music Theory from Scratch. If you have not taken that course, we recommend starting there. You are expected to know note names, the staff, accidentals and the basics of rhythm.

In this course we move on to how notes form scales and how keys work.

The course has 6 parts:

• 1 Whole Steps and Half Steps
• 2 The Major Scale
• 3 The Minor Scale
• 4 Keys
• 5 Key Signatures
• 6 The Circle of Fifths
